The Fórum Algirós is an initiative by the VCF Foundation that brings the club's history closer to the fans, courtesy of the protagonists themselves.
The Fórum Algirós is an initiative by the VCF Foundation that brings the club's history closer to the fans, courtesy of the protagonists themselves.
Periodically, the VCF Foundation organises meetings linked to relevant events in the club's history, as well as other themes related to sport and society in general. These are the forums held to date: con el deporte y la sociedad en general. Hasta la fecha, se han celebrado 12 Fórums:
Conexión Vintage: Kempes, February 26th at the Centro Cultural Bancaja, with participation from former players Kempes, Arias and Felman; and journalists Paco Grande and Paco Lloret.
Bronco y Copero. 75 years since the first Copa. May 5th 2016 at the MuVIM, with participation from: Pepe Vaello, historian Josep Bosch, and journalists José Ricardo March and Alfonso Gil.
In the second Fórum Algirós, Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation also paid tribute to Josep Rodríguez Tortajada (1899-1982), President during the Civil War (1936-1939), through his adopted son Francesc Cueva. He was presented with the gold insignia by Juan Cruz Sol, a member of the Advisory Board at VCF.
Blanquinegre. 90 minutes from glory. October 4th 2016 in the Plaza Interior de Nuevo Centro. Participants included: Roberto Gil, Juan Cruz Sol and Miguel Tendillo, who won trophies with the club between 1941 and 1981; and journalist Alfonso Gil.
Claramunt. 50 anys del debut d'un mite. November 24th 2016 at the Complejo Deportivo Cultural La Petxina of the Fundación Deportiva Municipal, with the participation of: Pep Claramunt and former teammates Abelardo and Sergio Manzanera; and journalists Alfredo Relaño and Paco Lloret.
L’equip elèctric. 75 anys de la primera Lliga. February 16th, 2017 at the Palco VIP at Mestalla, with the participation of: The daughter of Mundo Rosa Suárez; Rafael Bau, grandson of Rafael Bau García, director of the time; and journalists José Ricardo March and Alfonso Gil.
At the 5th Fórum Algirós, the VCF Foundation announced that Rafael Bau García would be officially recognised as president, a position he held for 47 days from June 28th 1936. This recognition was made official in October 2017.
La huella de la memoria. Recuperando la historia del fútbol. March 29th in the Salón de Actos of Cubo Amarillo at the Ciudad Politécnica de la Innovación of the Universitat Politècnica de València, With the participation of: Iñaki Mendoza, director of the museum and Real Sociedad documentarian; Manuel Tomás, Centre de Documentació i Estudis del FC Barcelona; and Loles Ruiz, head of the Heritage Departament · VCF Museum of the VCF Foundation.
El orígens del futbol valencià. De Burjassot a València. June 8th, 2017 at the Saló d´Actes of the Casa de la Cultura de Burjassot, with the participation of: Miquel Nadal, writer; David Montesinos, grandson of former player Montes; Arturo Cervellera, investigator; and journalist José Ricardo March.
La Copa de Fires. Cent anys de Fira València. October 19th 2017 at the Feria Valencia. With the participation of: Francisco García “Paquito” and José Martínez, former Valencia CF players; José del Olmo, head of Historic Documentation at the IFFHS; and journalist Paco Lloret.
¡Gol en Valencia! Pioneros del periodismo deportivo. January 25th at the Palco VIP of Mestalla, with the participation of Paco Nadal, José Ricardo March, Miquel Nadal and Alfonso Gil; homage was paid to Jaime Hernández Perpiñá, a pioneer of Valencian sports journalism and a key figure in spreading the story of the club.
És la nostra passió! Identidades y culturas futbolísticas, el 22 de febrero de 2018 en el Palco VIP de Mestalla, con la participación de: Ramón Llopis-Goig, profesor titular de Sociología de la Universitat de València; John Williams, profesor asociado de Sociología de la Universidad de Leicester (UK); y del periodista Alfonso Gil.
Va de bo GOL! June 13th 2018 at the Trinquet de Pelayo, with the participation of: Juan Cruz Sol, Pep Claramunt and José Cerveró, former Valencia CF players linked to the world of 'pilota', and ex-pilota players Antonio Reig "Rovellet" and Alfredo Hernando "Fredi"; and Alberto Soldado, pilota writer.
Un equip pirotècnic. Falla i futbol al Cap y Casal. November 15th 2018 at the Casal Faller "El Tio Pep", with the participation of: Jesús Peris, Pedro Nebot, Luis Fernández, Merchina Peris and José Ricardo March.
Un abraç entre germans. El Valencia CF al Méxic de Max Aub (1963-1966), el 17 de octubre de 2019 en la Biblioteca Valenciana Monestir de Sant Miquel dels Reis, con la participación de: Roberto Gil, Mª Teresa Álvarez Aub, Paco Lloret y José Ricardo March.
El primer Valencia CF. 100 anys del primer partit en Algirós, el 4 de diciembre de 2019 en el Palco VIP de Mestalla, con la participación de descendientes de Montes, Piñol, Rino, Cubells, Cordellat y Peral.
De tot cor. Sempre en la nostra memòria, el 18 de marzo de 2021 en el Palco VIP de Mestalla, con la participación de Ricardo Arias, Miguel Ángel Bossio, Miguel Tendillo y Fernando Giner. Fórum Algirós homenaje a quienes nos dejaron en 2020 y principios de 2021, con mención especial a Sol, Españeta y Vicent Cuxart.
La Lliga dels símbols. 50 anys del campionat de 1971, el 15 de abril de 2021 sobre el verde de Mestalla, con la participación de Pepe Claramunt, Enrique Claramunt, José Vicente Forment y Antonio M. Martínez “Antón”.
Roberto Gil. Tota una vida dedicada al Valencia CF, el 6 de julio de 2021, en el Castell de Riba-roja del Túria, con la participación de Pepe Claramunt, Miguel Ángel Bossio, Miguel Tendillo, Merchina Peris y el propio Roberto Gil.
